Dear Parishioners

As you probably are aware I have been asked by the Archbishop to take over from Monsignor John Wilson.  I am delighted to be here in the Parish of Ballymore Eustace.

It is an honour and a privilege to be here to serve you as your local priest.  I want to thank you all for the warm welcome I received, the phone calls, people calling to the house and at the Saturday night and Sunday morning masses.  I hope that together we can enrich the parish and each other with a great sense of the presence of God.

In today’s Gospel the apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith”. This really should be our prayer today as it was the disciples 2,000 years ago.  Even to repeat this request is a simple yet prefound prayer.  If we struggle to pray, we have faith and Jesus knows us completely.

He is telling us as he told his disciples if we have a little faith, even the smallest amount, he can work with us and empower us to do wonderful things together. “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed.”

Let us pray, support and encourage each other to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, so that others will recognise his presence in us and so believe that Jesus is the Saviour of the World.

Joe Connolly.
